Import Car Brakes: Automobile Safety From the World's Top Manufacturers

Just as important as a car's ability to accelerate to top speed is its ability to stop effectively. Import car brakes are an effective option to ensure that a car performs as it should.

Between the pedal and the brake discs, there are many components that make a brake system function properly, and each with distinct procedures for maintenance. Brake pads, for example, need to be changed after every 20,000 miles on the average. Disc brakes are normally equipped with a wear indicator, a metal that produces a squealing noise when it makes contact with a brake pad that has been worn down. This signals the need for an immediate braked pad replacement.

Needless to say, a car owner needs to be on top of his automobile's brake system maintenance, as it is one of the most important elements of automobile safety. And when it comes to choosing suitable replacement parts, import car brakes have been proven to be a smart choice for car owners.

Overseas manufacturers produce high-quality products that pass the most strenuous quality tests. Among the top import car companies are Toyota, Honda and Nissan from Japan and Hyundai from South Korea. According to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), Toyota was the top vehicle manufacturing company in 2009. The other three mentioned are included in the Top 10.

Quality and affordability are key factors to the success of these companies. These are among the reasons more and more people entrust their automobile safety to these manufacturers.

Indian Automobile Sector

Last year, 2.6 million units of new cars were produced in India. This made the country the seventh largest auto market in the world. In the continent of Asia, India is the fourth leading exporter of cars, after Japan, South Korea and Thailand. It has been projected that in another 40 years, the Indian automobile sector will top the world in car production and around 611 million automobiles will be plying on the Indian roads.

The economic liberalization in India that happened in 1991 brought in an increase in competitiveness and a relaxation in restrictions. Post 1991, the Indian car market has been displaying steady growth. Many Indian automotive majors like M&M, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors expanded their base both in India and abroad. The Indian automobile sector's healthy and financially viable growth led to the internal development and also gave rise to noteworthy India-specific investments by multinational car makers. In February last year, the monthly sales of passenger cars in India had exceeded 100,000 units.

Post Indian independence in 1947, the Government of India and the private sector too launched several programmes to build an auto industry, but in vain. Noticeable changes began only in the 1970s, and that too, only in the truck, tractor and two-wheeler automobile sectors. Cars were still considered just a luxury and not a necessity. Luckily, Japanese manufacturers slowly made their entry in the Indian market finally leading to the set up of Maruti Udyog which is now known as Maruti Suzuki and is the largest selling automotive major in India. Many other car makers soon made their entry on Indian roads.

It was in the 1980s that the car industry started seeing growth. There were many global automotive majors coming to India with intentions of building joint ventures. Everybody smelt the potential that the Indian automobile sector possessed and wanted to explore it further. Several Japanese car makers launched joint-ventures for building light commercial vehicles too.

In recent times, India has appeared as one of the largest manufacturers of small cars globally. India's sturdy engineering base and proficiency when it comes to production of affordable, fuel-economic cars has led to the expansion of production facilities of various car manufacturers like Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, VW and Maruti Suzuki.

Two years ago Hyundai alone had exported around 2,40,000 cars, all made in India. By next year, Nissan plans to export at least 250,000 units produced in its plant in India. GM too has great plans for India. The car maker's Indian subsidiary, Chevrolet has been doing real well and GM wants about 50,000 cars manufactured in India in a year's time. The sales figures for almost all car manufacturers in India have been displaying an all-time high and this has been projected to grow further.

Preparing Your Automobile's AC System

If knowing the basic operating principles of your autos air conditioning system is a benefit, than this article is yours for the taking. The automobile a/c system can be expensive to repair in some cases. Considering a simple inspection and performance test, may save in time and money. Here are some basic checks that will help aid in producing cold air and cooling your every day drive. Read on.

Make sure the car is blowing air into the cab, start the vehicle and turn the a/c on with the air on high. If air is present, is that air cold, cool or warm? Cold air means system if functioning, but may need servicing for even colder air. Cool air indicates that the system needs service, and may have a significant freon leak or weak system. Warm air suggest that your automobile air conditioning system has malfunctioned. With the air still on high, cycle the a/c button or switch on the the air conditioning control panel. Do you hear the compressor switch on and off? This will sound like a loud tick one time under the hood. Thus the same sound should be heard every time you cycle the a/c. If the compressor is cycling on and off, but the cab is not cooling, then you may be low on freon. The system may have air or moister, due to a large freon leak. The system may be inefficient or cold air is not being diverted, this is due to a malfunction in the air ducting via electrical, engine vacuum or control panel failure. A complete inspection of your automobiles cooling system will also play a factor in a/c efficiency. Another way to check for a/c efficiency would be to inspect the accumulator with the air conditioning on and running. This component is a cylinder under the hood and may have a sticker on it from the factory. The receiver drier or accumulator will be cold and may have condensation on it, when the air conditioning system is working properly.

In conclusion preparing your vehicle for the heat is crucial to get through the summer. In order to have a reliable ride, and a comfortable one, auto air condition and cooling system checks must be performed. These inspections should be performed by a certified auto technician. When performing the checks on your own, take the proper safety precautions, and utilize any information you can gather about your automobiles air conditioning system.

Best Automobile Insurance Companies

Just what are the qualities that make for the best automobile insurance companies? The answer to this question could mean the difference between a decent quote or a bad quote, but it could also mean the difference between good coverage and bad coverage. This article will reveal the things that make an insurance provider, worthy of being called the best. And after reading you'll be able to make a better choices when looking to insure your automobile...

Insurance Is Accessible - No Expensive Upfront Fees
The best automobile insurance companies will strive to make insurance accessible and won't go overboard when setting policy rates. Insurance policies as you may well know are based on several variables, but there is a standard element to any policy. This is the element that you should pay close attention to. If it's too high stay away from he company; no matter how much they claim to be the best.

Sound Payout Record
It is often said that insurance companies make every effort NOT to payout in the event of an accident, and if the infomercials are to be believed then finding an insurance company that has a decent payout record is super important. It isn't too difficult to spot a company with a poor record of payout. The Better Business Bureau and other consumer watchdog organizations usually have ample data on the poorer performing companies.

The payout record of a company should also inform your decision about the type of coverage you take out. Typically, the better the payout record, the greater the coverage you can take out. And since the better the coverage the higher the premium, you simply cannot afford to make any mistakes in this department.

Reasonable Deductible Percentage
The deductible percentage represents the amount that you'll have to fund in the event of an accident. It varies from provider to provider, but your goal should be to select the provider with the lowest percentage. This percentage can always be increased by you later on, should you decide to use it as cost saving measure on the overall quote itself.

The pointers outlined above represent the best criteria for identifying the best automobile insurance companies. The list of course isn't exhaustive, but is a sound enough to enable you to make a decent choice. Additionally, you can increase your chances of getting a good quote and good coverage by choosing an online company. In fact, an online company will allow for even greater cost saving since they're usually cheaper than their offline counterparts.

Car Quality Rankings 2010 - Change in Automobile Manufacturer Quality

While many consumers may harbor hope that the quality of an automobile manufacturer's product may change, or has changed, either their manufacturer's quality may improve or has improved or a competitor's quality may worsen or has worsened, the data suggest that more significant improvement may require decades of effort, but a significant decline may occur more speedily.

First, an examination of some of the changes in car manufacturer Reliability Percent rank Averages from 1988 to 1998 yields the following:

BMW AG: 0.43 (in 1998) minus 0.85 (in 1988) equals a change of -0.42
Chrysler Group: 0.32 - 0.32 = 0.00
Ford Motor Company: 0.51 - 0.33 = +0.18
General Motors Corporation: 0.30 - 0.44 = -0.14
Honda Motor Company: 0.92 - 0.91 = +0.01
Mazda Motor Corporation: 0.67 - 0.92 = -0.25
Mercedes-Benz: 0.43 - 0.87 = -0.44
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation: 0.57 - 0.81 = -0.24
Nissan Motor Company: 0.74 - 0.87 = -0.13
Subaru division of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.: 0.80 - 0.72 = +0.08
Toyota Motor Corporation: 0.90 - 0.92 = -0.02
Volkswagen AG: 0.13 - 0.35 = -0.24

From this list, the greatest improvement in car manufacturer quality standing was achieved by Ford Motor Company, with a rather modest gain of +0.18 percent rank points, and that four manufacturers suffered declines exceeding this modest gain, with one suffering a decline substantially exceeding Ford's gain.

Second, an examination of the changes in car manufacturer percent shares of Consumer Reports' annual Used-Cars-to-Avoid lists from 1992 to 2010 yields the following:

BMW AG: 6% (in 2010) minus 0% (in 1992) equals a change of 6%
Chrysler Group: 18% - 25% = -7%
Ford Motor Company: 10% - 23% = -13%
General Motors Corporation: 41% - 43% = -2%
Honda Motor Company: 0% - 0% = 0%
Mazda Motor Corporation: 1% - 3% = -2%
Mercedes-Benz: 3% - 0% = 3%
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation: 0% - 0% = 0%
Nissan Motor Company: 3% - 0% = 3%
Subaru division of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.: 0% - 1% = -1%
Toyota Motor Corporation: 1% - 0% = 1%
Volkswagen AG: 11% - 2% = 9%

From this list, Ford Motor Company's quality improvement (reduction in its share of CR's worst) exceeds Volkswagen AG's quality decline (increase in its share of CR's worst).

Third, an examination of the change in each car manufacturer's 2010 Auto Reliability Grade Point Average from model years 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003 to model years 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 yields the following:

BMW AG: 1.39 (for 2006 to 2009) minus 1.65 (for 2000 to 2003) equals a change of -0.26
Chrysler Group: 0.99 - 1.29 = -0.30
Ford Motor Company: 2.21 - 2.01 = +0.20
General Motors Corporation: 1.25 - 1.35 = -0.10
Honda Motor Company: 3.47 - 3.27 = +0.20
Mazda Motor Corporation: 2.47 - 2.68 = -0.21
Mercedes-Benz: 1.60 - 2.39 = -0.79
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation: 3.00 - 2.25 = +0.75
Nissan Motor Company: 2.43 - 2.61 = -0.18
Subaru division of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.: 2.92 - 2.10 = +0.82
Toyota Motor Corporation: 3.34 - 3.72 = -0.38
Volkswagen AG: 1.85 - 1.06 = +0.79

By this list, Subaru, Volkswagen, and Mitsubishi have shown the greatest improvement; however, Subaru's Auto Reliability Grade for the most recent model years is a B (exactly the same as its overall 2010 average and likely what it would have been in 1988), Mitsubishi's is a B (also exactly the same as its overall 2010 average and likely what it would have been in 1988), and Volkswagen's is a C (versus an overall 2010 average of a D).

Also by this list, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, and BMW suffered the greatest decline. Toyota's reliability remains strong, with an Auto Reliability Grade of a very strong B even for the most recent model years. However, BMW's grade for the most recent model years (2006 to 2009) is a D and Mercedes' is a C, both having declined rather significantly from 1988, when they would likely have both been Bs.

Most telling of the time and effort required to improve quality are Ford's improvements. Ford has shown gains in all three of the above reliability measures and its rise in quality is noticeable as early as 1991; nonetheless, its 2010 Auto Reliability GPA for the most recent model years (2006 to 2009) is a very modest 2.21, a C by letter grade. This suggests that it may be decades more before Ford Motor Company will match the reliability of Honda Motor Company (with a 2010 overall GPA of 3.35) or Toyota Motor Corporation (with a 2010 overall GPA of 3.49) and many decades more before the remaining two of the Detroit Three will match the reliability of the automotive industry's leaders.

Automobile Recalls

Recalls have featured heavily in the news lately. Whether the recall was for faulty brakes, sticky accelerators, or some other safety hazard, the reason it was issued was to notify owners of the vehicle that their vehicles are unsafe and need to be repaired immediately.

When a recall is issued, the purpose of it is for people to take notice and, as a result, to take action. Failure to respond to a recall may place an individual's life in danger. As such, individuals who receive recalls through the mail, television, or Internet should act on the recalls immediately.

In most cases, recalls address issues such as:

  • Auto parts that wear out too fast
  • Faults in safety features
  • Electrical problems

Since these problems can either put a driver in danger or severely inhibit his or her ability to safely drive his or her automobile, auto manufacturers are usually quick to pick up on problems and issue recalls to prevent bad publicity and injuries to their consumers. Unfortunately, recalls typically are not issued until an individual suffers an injury in an accident. These individuals who are in the accidents that spawn recalls may be entitled to financial compensation for their injuries.

Before pursuing legal action to seek financial compensation, victims of faulty automobiles should first consult with an experienced auto defects lawyer to learn more about their legal rights and responsibilities. It is important to note that hiring a lawyer does not guarantee a victory, but it may increase an individual's likelihood of winning his or her case.

Automobile Air Cleaners

Exposure to auto exhaust on a regular basis can cause lowered immunity, breathing problems, and lowered cognitive ability. In an ideal world, a car's emissions would include carbon dioxide and water. However, in reality a variety of harmful substances like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, and ozone are produced.

Although cars today are built in an environment friendly manner and emit 80-97% less pollution than cars manufactured prior to 1970, the problem still persists. This is due to the increase in volume of cars and higher emissions from light trucks and minivans since they are designed to carry heavier loads. Falling sick due to such unhealthy air must seem inevitable considering that a significant part of your day is spent on the road. The answer to this problem could be the installation of an automobile air cleaner.

An automobile air cleaner helps to remove toxins from the air in trucks, cars, and even boats. They cleanse the air of particulate matter like dust, pollen, cigarette smoke, fumes and other noxious gases that one encounters on the move.

Each purifier has different features to get rid of different particulates. Hence, it is better to get a model with multiple cleaning devices. Carbon filters are a must to help get rid of smoke and other harmful gases. A HEPA filter is good to remove aerial particles. For pollutants which settle down on surfaces, an ionic purifier acts efficiently. Technology has also offered portable air purifiers. These don't take up any passenger space. They can be strapped on behind the headrest of the front seat. Some can even be plugged into the vehicle's cigarette lighter. They run on the vehicle's own power. To sum them up, they are efficient, unobtrusive, and inexpensive.

Safe Driving - Why Do Automobile Drivers Purposely Torment Truck Drivers

Safe driving is more than a phrase that is loosely tossed around, many of the big trucks on the road today are fully loaded; the 48' and 53' trailers can carry 42,000# of freight in the trailer easily. When the total weight of the truck is added to the freight many trucks are at or near 80,000#.

When you combine the total weight of an 18-wheeler and its forward motion of 55 MPH to an impact with automobile, what would you compare the impact to the automobile to?

A good exercise to try some times would be to imagine yourself as the truck driver, just put yourself if the truck drivers seat some times. Now ask yourself what keeps these drivers from going postal every day?

Some people use their car or truck as a tool to torment the 18-wheeler truck driver and the truck driver has to deal with this type of negative attitude all day every day, some drivers think they must try to get back at the driver of a big truck for cutting them off, so they will speed past the big truck cut into his/her lane of travel and slow down.

There are many things the tractor trailer driver must constantly check while he/she is driving.

• The instrument gauges

• Check every mirror if possible

• Check the immediate traffic that surrounds his/her truck

• Check traffic conditions as far ahead as they can see

• Watch out for drivers who make lane changes without signaling

You would think that it's not a struggle or hard work for the truck driver, the truck is doing the work right? But after at the end of the day or a long trip the driver is exhausted as if he had to pull that 80,000# heavy load up the hill by his own strength.

Safe driving is the most important task when the truck is in motion. There is no time for childish behavior on the road. Imagine yourself behind the wheel of a big rig sometimes trying to move an 80 ft. truck checking your equipment you can as you maneuvers in and out of traffic and the other motorist on the road with you show no compassion.

If you avoid doing any of the following items in part 2 of this article on a daily basis, you should give yourself a pat on the back and I take my hat off to you. The truck driver cannot communicate directly with you but your support is always welcomed.

What Causes Automobile Accidents?

The uses of automobiles are now on the increase. This frequently causes misunderstanding of the road signs and the next driver's gestures. Consequently, this causes collisions between two or more cars or even a pedestrian who has no part of being a cause of the accident. It pains to sustain an injury especially when it did not result from one's personal negligence. When this kind of thing happens, one may begin to look for an auto accident lawyer.

Auto accidents can be caused by the behavior put by a driver at the point of action, the speed of the vehicles, physical impairments such as poor eye sight, influence of alcohol, drug use, bad roads, poor state of vehicles and neglecting traffic rules and road signs. To prevent auto accidents, it is expected that the vehicles are not driven at speeds higher or lower than the median. To reduce accidents caused by physical impairments, it is advisable that aged adults should not participate in driving. If it is necessary that they move about in their own cars, then hiring a personal driver should be considered.

It has been predicted that by 2020, auto accidents leading to death will be more than the threat posed by the deadly HIV/AIDS sickness. This has made international bodies such as the World Health Organization to have close door meetings so as to raise means of preventing this ugly future.

In the past, it has been recorded that auto accidents have led to the death of about 1.2 million people (in 2004) and caused about 50 million injuries (in that same year). What is really more devastating about this is that the accidents can be prevented if adequate measures are taken. Some of these measures include making sure that the cars are adequately maintained to have no faults on the speedometer, brakes and seat belts. Also, regular checks have to be made on the engine to avoid unforeseen accidents.

Although vehicle accidents have been widely acclaimed to be regular in countries where the citizens earn low or a little above average, it should be known that neglecting the possibility of sustaining accidents among top class individuals is also a cause of auto accidents.

When auto accidents occur, other issues such as car insurance and personal injury lawyers may arise. If a car accident caused damage to another car owner, the owner of the car at fault may need to pay for damages to the other car owner as well as pay for his health treatments. Sometimes, it may be difficult to get these benefits. At this point, it is good to seek the advice or actions of an auto accident lawyer to help.

How to Fix Automobile Transmission Issues

You are able to do DIY repairs for common automatic transmission problems. Modern cars have automated transmission and hence, these issues are very common and expensive. If you know the way to fix transmission problems, you'll lower your expenses and even if the issue needs a mechanic, you'll avoid being overcharged. The key elements in an automated transmission system are the bell housing, the gears, the transmission fluid, and the filter. The issues will be in either of these elements and the two scenarios are that the automobile does not move at all, or the automobile does not move smoothly.

Before fixing automated transmission issues, you need to diagnose the system to find out exactly what is wrong. A typical cause of transmission issues is low fluid level. You in all probability have an issue of low fluid level, when you have issues similar to low drive power, noisy or rough transmission, and transmission slips. You should check the fluid level several occasions a year - don't wait until you've got a problem. A low fluid degree can result in damage to the system. If the level keeps on dropping drastically, this is an indication that you've a leak. The system is a closed system and this implies there are only a few locations via which fluid can leak. These are at the selector shaft, the base of the filler tube, the drain hole, where the velocity sensor is mounted, between the engine and the transmission, and the radiator has a cooler. The way to repair the leaks is buying a sealant and protecting the leaking parts. Manufacturers often advocate the sealant to use.

Another frequent automated transmission issues is a clogged filter. The filter is an important component of the system and since its function is to filter out undesirable particles from the transmission fluid, it often is clogged frequently. If you do not fix the issue, there is a danger that not sufficient fluid will reach the gears, meaning there will be tear and wear, and there's a danger that massive chunks of particles could find their way to the gears, leading to the same problem. The repair for this problem is solely changing the clogged filter.

If the transmission is not downshifting or the pedal is totally down, the issue is likely to be the automobile's throttle valve cable. The way to fix that is removing and changing the cable. That is straightforward in most autos and particulars are found within the automobile's user manual. Before removing the cable, you need to first disable the automobile's airbag system to avoid the risk of accidental deployment.

If the automobile is starting in other gears, not parked or neutral, the issue is most probably to be the neutral start switch. To repair this problem, begin by disabling the automobile's airbag system, eradicating the cable from the automobile battery's negative terminal, and placing the automobile on neutral gear. Next, change the neutral start switch. Observe that the back-up lights system is linked to this system in most autos and so you want to verify that the back-up light bulbs and fuses are working properly.

Safe Driving - Why Do Automobile Drivers Purposely Torment Truck Drivers?

Some of the challenges and attitudes a truck driver deals with constantly all day long physically and emotionally drains the driver and makes it seem as if he did pull the load with his own power.

The drivers slow down on purpose to cause the big truck to have to hit the brakes for no reason. Some drivers who purposely torment the big rig driver are stopped at a traffic light too long, a big truck is approaching slower to avoid coming to a complete stop, when the traffic light changes and the motorist starts and then stops or hits his brakes, causing the big truck to make a hard stop, and the motorist smiles as he/she drives away.

Drivers are traveling at the speed limit and as they start up a hill and suddenly they slow down causing the big truck to lose his forward momentum.

If the driver that jumps in front of the tractor trailer and slows down would just think for a moment, he/she is not only slowing down the tractor trailer but the vehicles behind the big truck as well.

The driver who conducts himself in such a manner and causes the problems and drives off, now the truck driver has to regain his speed and the traffic behind the truck gets upset with the truck driver and they have no idea what just happened in front.

If the driver that does this would think just a little bit more, how would he like to be the driver behind the tractor trailer who now has to go even slower while the tractor trailer regains its speed?

Drivers are aware that they are slowing traffic down, when the big truck finally gets space to change lanes to pass the much slower car, the car now speeds up above the speed limit to prevent the truck from passing. Drivers entering the Interstate enter traffic as if they are turning onto another side street.

These motorists also display the same attitude as the other drivers who press the brake when they should be pressing the gas. Drivers who are getting onto the highway or the interstate with a cell phone pressed to their left ear holding a conversation if these drivers continue this type of conduct behind the wheel of any vehicle entering the expressway could cause a serious accident. Most of the time, in my experience, the driver who does this only looks back at the oncoming traffic seconds before they actually are about to get into traffic.

The unsafe driver of the oncoming vehicle was not aware that the truck driver or any other driver has slowed up to allow them the room they should need to enter traffic safely because they are so tied up with the phone.

The majority of the drivers this happens to slows down and enters the lane behind the big rig and then speeds up to frown at the truck driver for not allowing them to carry on their conversation and flow right into traffic.

Many of these drivers shoot the truck driver the BIRD or do something else to aggravate the truck driver. But who was at fault?

Most of the time the oncoming driver misses his/her opening to flow into traffic and ends up driving on the shoulder a little ways and always gets angry.

If the truck driver or other motorist holds their speed and a crash does happen who is at fault?

Drivers who will not move over and allow the oncoming traffic to enter safely never consider if the big truck has to come to a complete stop and start over again just to enter the interstate how will the oncoming traffic react while they wait for the big truck to build his/her speed up?

The point here is the truck driver is a trained professional, he/she will do their best to watch out for your safety and we need your help to make this happen. Every single driver that I know considers that the person in the other 4-wheeler may be in some way related to them or a close friend and they don't want to injure a family member.

Automobile Insurance Definitions

INTRODUCTION

Getting involved in an automobile accident can be a confusing and stressful time. In addition to the possible pain you are suffering from the collision itself, you may be frustrated and confused trying to navigate your insurance policy and its coverage. Below is a general list of the insurance coverage definitions that may apply to your situation. These definitions may be different depending on your state (I practice in the state of Florida) and the policy that you may have. It is always a good idea to consult with any attorney to see what coverages may apply.

INSURANCE COVERAGE DEFINITIONS

Comprehensive Coverage Insurance - Designed to pay for the repair or replacement of the policy owner's car in the event of damage not resulting from an accident. Comprehensive insurance covers theft, fire, vandalism, weather damage, riots, missiles, and other similar circumstances which may cause damage to a vehicle.

Property Damage Coverage - An insurance policy which pays for damage caused to the property of others, including cars, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Florida law requires minimum coverage of $10,000.00 property damage liability coverage.

Collision Coverage Insurance - Designed to pay for the repair or replacement of the policy owner's car in the event of an accident, no matter who caused the accident. Collision coverage usually requires the payment of a deductible when a claim is made and may be required to secure a new car loan.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Coverage (Sometimes Referred to as "No-Fault") - Insurance designed to be paid without regard to "fault," or more properly, legal liability. PIP is also called "no-fault" because, by definition, a claimant's, or insured's, insurance premium should not increase due to a PIP claim. Florida law requires minimum coverage of $10,000.00 personal injury protection.

Bodily Injury Coverage - An insurance policy that pays for injuries caused to other individuals in the event of a motor vehicle accident. Generally, insurance companies will only the allow purchase of UM/UIM coverage up to the insured's current bodily injury limit.

Uninsured Motorist Coverage - An automobile policy option which covers one for property damage and bodily injury caused by another motorist who does not carry liability insurance.

CONCLUSION

If you have suffered personal injuries and property damage as a result of an automobile accident, knowing what coverage you have under your policy is important. It is always a good idea to consult with an attorney to know your rights and coverages under your insurance policy.

The Definition of Luxury Cars

Luxury cars are those vehicles which provide luxury with pleasant or advantageous features beyond strict necessity at an increased expense. Here the term "luxury" describes the greater equipment, good performance, construction accuracy, enormous comfort with creative design and technological innovation or features which create the brand image, status or prestige-or any other flexible feature.

Targeting a particular socio-economic class, the automobile manufactures make specific models of vehicles that get associated with social status of that class. Thus, in collusion with the car-buying public, these automobile manufactures distinguish among their product lines. Regarding the luxury vehicles, high price is the most common factor; moreover the styling, engineering, and even public opinion about the cars highest and lowest status association with them also matters a lot.

In the history of automobile industry, it is seemed that every time due to the assumed superiority of the design and engineering of these particular cars, these group of car marques and models become expensive to purchase. These cars are designed by aiming at wealthy buyers and that's why these automobiles generically are termed as luxury cars. Moreover, the term luxury car was also used for unique vehicles created during an era when luxury was a personal consideration and thus, coachwork was customized depending on an owner's likes and dislikes. Even though there is significant literature about precise marques, but there is a lack of systematic and scholarly work which describe the luxury car trend itself.

In today's era, luxury cars include vehicles such as sedan, coupe, hatchback, station wagon with convertible body styles, as well as minivans, crossovers, or sport utility vehicles which are available in any size, from small to large with various price range.

This widely used term luxury is broad and extremely variable. It is a more conditional, perceptual and subjective attribute and therefore, different people may understand it differently. Thus, the definition of a luxury car to some... may be ordinary to some others.

These cars likely to offer a higher degree of comfort level than their typical counterparts, regular facilities such as real leather upholstery and sophisticated woodgrain-look dashboards. In Comparison to the normal vehicles, these cars have conventionally emphasized in comfort and safety aspect of the vehicles. These contemporary cars also provide higher performance with better handling. Luxury vehicles are considered as status symbols for rich people with prominent use.

In earlier period, the people who are rich and high class could only afford luxury cars. But these days, even the people who are not rich enough can also enjoy the comfort of these cars. The car hiring services have made it easy for them. Limo is one of the very popular hired car these days. People hire limousines for wedding, graduation party, to pick up guest from the airport etc. If you want to book a luxury car for your tour or party, then you will find a lot of car hiring services available these days which will offer you the kind of luxury you want depending on your preference.

The Consequences of Common Automobile Defects

America is a nation on wheels. In nearly every part of the United States, people rely on automobiles for their transportation needs. For many people, an unexpected automobile defect can mean being unable to get to work or school easily. But in some cases, automobile defects are much more serious. When a vehicle's brakes, seat belts, or other important components are defective, automobile accidents that would be survivable in a normal car can prove deadly.

Perhaps the most crucial component of any automobile is its brakes. Reliable brakes are absolutely essential for keeping a vehicle under control. Even in relatively slow city traffic, a sudden loss of braking ability, even a partial loss, can result in a collision. Our bodies are not built to withstand the forces of automobile impacts, so even low-speed collisions can cause injuries such as whiplash and concussion.

Defective seatbelts pose nearly as great a risk as faulty brakes. Although brakes are essential for maintaining control of a car, seatbelts become the most important part of a vehicle by far at the moment of impact. Seatbelts are a long-proven safety method that has been used for nearly a century in various forms to save millions of lives. A faulty seatbelt not only fails to restrain a vehicle's occupants, it can even cause loss of a limb or death.

Car seat failure is one of the leading causes of accidental death for children. It is unsafe for a young child to ride in an automobile without a car seat, as they can slip through the seatbelt, but car seats are not always designed properly. Every component of a car seat is supposed to be designed to strict standards of safety and reliability, but that does not prevent some manufacturers from selling products that are inadequate.

People who have been injured by automobile defects and their families have the right to seek compensation for their medical expenses, losses, and suffering. By taking legal action, they can offset the impact of their serious injuries on their lives and move on.

Automobile Refinance - Refinance Your Car and Save Money Every Month

Your car can be refinanced just like your house can. It can save you hundreds of dollars every month. That's money you can put toward paying off other debt or saving for that big purchase. Automobile refinance is fairly simple. Do a little research before you get started and save yourself a bundle of time and money in the long run. A refinance is basically getting a new loan at a better interest rate to pay off the old one. Then you start paying on the new one. Often times you get to skip a payment in the process.

There are more benefits than just a better interest rate when you do an automobile refinance. You may opt to change the term of your loan. Make the term shorter and pay off the loan sooner; or you might make the term longer and decrease your monthly payments. You could keep the same term and keep paying the same amount, therefore paying more to the principal amount and less interest. That would also end your loan sooner. Most lenders do not have prepayment penalties, but make sure to ask. You would not want to pay a fee just because you paid your loan off earlier than expected.

Another added benefit to automobile refinance is special coverage of the vehicle. You may like to have gap coverage which pays for things that your insurance does not in case of an accident. Mechanical coverage is also often available. This gives you coverage if your car breaks down. Look out though, these extras cost money and the whole point of refinancing is to save money. Don't do the clearance sale thing and buy stuff you don't really need just because it's on sale.

There are other things to watch out for as well. Make sure that a refinance is going to be worth it for you. Generally speaking, refinance isn't helpful unless you still owe at least $7,500; $10,000 or more would be ideal. Automobile refinance is based upon what you owe rather than the value of the car. Don't get caught up in all the options and benefits offered to you. There are fees you need to watch out for as well. In the end, remember your bottom line is to save money. If you are not saving money, the refinance won't help you.
